Office desks and keyboards are a breeding ground for germs, but few of us stop to consider how clean (or not) our work spaces really are! Whether you work from home or are responsible for managing a shared office space, here are some tips to help you keep your workplace clean and hygienic.

Don't Eat at your Desk

Eating at our desks has become the norm for millions of us, whether it's because we simply don't have time to take a proper lunch break or because we don't work in a building with a designated canteen or break area. But if you can help it, you shouldn't eat at your desk. Crumbs from food will end up in every nook and cranny over time, contributing to the dirt around your work space, even if you're careful. If you have no option but to eat at your desk, wipe down your desk regularly with antibacterial spray and a clean cloth. Use an air spray to remove any crumbs and dust from your PC or laptop keyboard - you'll be amazed by how much dirt is revealed!

If food waste - including empty food and drinks containers - is going into office bins, these should be emptied daily. Ensure whoever is responsible for emptying the bins keeps on top of this important job.

Keep Screens Clean

Computer screens show up every greasy fingerprint and dust particle, so make sure you have a ready supply of screen wipes or lint-free cloths to keep all the monitors in your office clean. This won't only look better, but it will make your screen easier to see too.
